Entrance to Gaslamp Quarter San Diego

Here at the Sofia, we’re all keenly anticipating another round of a truly beloved biannual tradition: San Diego Restaurant Week!

Between September 21 and 26, you’ll be able to hit the town—actually, the whole county—and sample some of the finest cuisine San Diego has to offer, all at discounted prices.

It’s as simple as can be: You don’t even need to buy a special ticket. Participating restaurants—and there are nearly 200 of them—are offering specially priced prix fixe lunch and dinner menus for everyone, so your “job” is just to show up to as many as your stomach can handle!

A Wonderfully Affordable, Wonderfully Tasty Journey

The San Diego Restaurant Week website—run, like the event itself, by the San Diego County Chapter of the California Restaurant Association—provides an easy-to-use inventory of the eateries taking part in this one-of-a-kind celebration.

Those eateries are scattered widely across 12 regions, from the North County coast (where joints like Blue Ribbon Artisan Pizzeria and the Marine Room will tantalize your palette) to the eastern reaches of the metro area (including the gustatory delights of Bandar Restaurant and Cali Comfort BBQ).

The wonderful thing about San Diego Restaurant Week—aside from how kind it is to the pocketbook—is that remarkable diversity of geography and establishment. The occasion gives you a wonderful overview of our region’s diverse culinary makeup.

The prices, without a doubt, are unbeatable: Talented local chefs will be turning out two-course lunches in the $10, $15, and $20 range and three-course dinners at $25, $35, or $45.

The Sofia’s Own World-class Restaurant

Participating again in San Diego Restaurant Week is our very own Currant American Brasserie, which’ll be offering some of its impeccably rendered fare in $15-lunch and $35-dinner forms for the occasion.

Currant aesthetic is impressive: French-inspired cuisine reimagined with creative American style and served up with a real regional focus. The restaurant’s both elegant and homey: You’re treated to exquisite food without pretense.

Book yourself a room at the Sofia Hotel to enjoy the best of San Diego eating during Restaurant Week—and don’t dare miss out on Currant American Brasserie’s offerings! We’ll see you at the table!
