Catch A San Diego Padres Home Game This April At Petco Park
March 24th, 2016|SofiaBlog

Baseball season has arrived, and that means lots of mitt-slapping, bat-cracking, base-sliding, and gum-chewing action down at the San Diego Padres’ Petco Park!

With spring training soon to be in the rearview mirror, the Padres have some super-exciting home games coming up in April. As a guest of the Sofia Hotel, you’re well poised to enjoy the drama firsthand: We’re as conveniently located to Petco Park as can be, given we’re just minutes from the downtown stadium.

Upcoming Home Games

April kicks off with two at-home spring-training games against the Chicago White Sox on the 1st and the 2nd, and then the Padres mark the start of the regular season with a trio of home-opener games against longtime rivals the Los Angeles Dodgers on the 4th, 5th, and 6th. After a week or so on the road, the Padres will be back at Petco in mid-April to square off against the Arizona Diamondbacks (April 15, 16, and 17), the Pittsburgh Pirates (April 19, 20, and 21), and the St. Louis Cardinals (April 22, 23, and 24).

A Heck of a Home for the Padres

Besides the high-drama innings, a Padres game is a joy because of the venue. From the color scheme evoking San Diego’s physical environment to spectator-friendly features such as the “Park at the Park” greenspace and playground, Petco’s a spectacular ballpark celebrating its 12th year in 2016. You can also pay your respects to a real San Diego legend at the noble bronze statue of “Mr. Padre”—aka Tony Gwynn, who contributed 20 seasons to the Padres before retiring in 2001. When baseballs aren’t flying, the stadium also hosts concerts and other large-scale events; its acts have included the Rolling Stones and Madonna.

You can find all the information you need about tickets to the Padres’ April home games right here at the Pads’ website. And don’t forget to reserve a room at the Sofia for the main event. We’ll see you at the ballpark this spring!
